The West Somerset Railway Plc has issued a statement about current issues – in particular concerning the Plc’s engagement with the West Somerset Railway Association.

The Plc have also issued a copy of a letter sent to the WSRA which adds further insight into current issues.
We believe WSRA members will need to carefully read both of these documents and consider the impact of the stated changes on the WSRA’s current plans.
The view from the WSRA+ team – all long term WSRA members – is that the Trustees will take this on the chin and use this new baseline to urgently form new policies to deal with the impact.
WSRA+ also believes the Review of the WSRA will need to take serious note of this new situation and will hopefully propose a shape for WSRA that can work in a good way for all of the Railway.
I wonder if now the chickens are finally coming home to roost and that – at last – the WSRA Trustees WILL have to sit up and take notice?
I agree with the stance from the PLC about not having a director on the WSRA Board in order not to appear to be giving credence to the many failings which they have pointed out. I wonder if now the Trustees will finally accept the points which so many members having been making for so long?
It is interesting to note the comment about the failure of ‘Promotions’ to make allowance for the return to ‘normal’ of the NF site after termination of the stone trains. This reinforces the view held by many that Promotions has been trading on thin air for some time now.
Very good too to see the support from the Plc for urgent resolution of the issues surrounding the dubious suspension of Ian Coleby, the botched attempt to expel 4 other members, the contentious voting practices at the AGM and EGM etc.
